The internet is wonderful, but it’s also a landfill for many annoying things. Here are our top 10 online annoyances and how you can fix them for a better browsing experience.
Ads are one of the most obvious (but nonetheless biggest) annoyances on the internet. It’s not necessarily because they’re ads, but because there are so many of them and they’re frequently intrusive. Fortunately, blocking them is easy. Just pick up a copy of an ad blocker for Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and even Internet Explorer.

Did you know that you could add another toolbar to Firefox without needing to install an add-on? This customization feature is often overlooked and can come in handy if you need some extra space to store your buttons or any other toolbar elements you have added to Firefox. Continue reading
Visit any forum or website to find something useful and they will ask you to register. Every time a forum asks me to register, I simply close the site. You would probably do the same. But this time, lets face it.
Before I begin, you should know how things work. All websites and forums will block unregistered users, but they won’t block Google Bot. What we will do is to switch our User Agent to that of Google Bot and freely browse any website or forum without registering.
First grab the add-on for Firefox called ‘user agent’ here and install it. Now go to Tools > User Agent Switcher > Options and then again to Options.

This is a fun little trick that can create a shaking screen on your web browser (i.e. Internet Explorer,Firefox etc..)
The trick is simply a small Java Script that causes your browser window to move to different positions, causing a shake of your entire screen. It’s kind of cool to watch and see what Java Script can do! Try it out..
After becoming addicted to the new experimental Google Beta Shortcuts that let you navigate through results with

your keyboard, it started to irritate me that I didn’t get to use the shortcut keys when I use a quick search in the Firefox address bar using the “?” keyword. Good thing it’s a very simple to change.
If you don’t have a keyword bookmark for Google Search yet, you can start by making a bookmark to this link (right-click and choose bookmark this link), and name it something useful.
Now right-click the new link and choose Properties.
Here’s where you’ll want to add the keyword ? into the keyword box, to make it look like this. (If you already have a keyword bookmark for Google Search, then add in the URL above into the location box here.
The Screengrab! extension will let us take a complete page screenshot from the right-click context menu:

If you choose the Save option you can save the image on your computer. If you choose the Copy option you will copy the picture in the clipboard.
You should save the file with an extension of .png to not have problems opening it.

Here is a pic with the entire screenshot that was taken with this add-on:

You can download Screengrab! from here.
Instead of using the Google Talk client embedded in Gmail, you can use it in your Firefox sidebar with the GTalk sidebar extension.
1. Go here and install the add-on.

2. Add the button to the toolbar. Right-click where the buttons are, choose Customize, and then drag the icon to the button’s place.

3. This icon will let you open the GTalk sidebar.

This extension is also useful for sending somebody a quick email and you can open it with the shortcut Alt+G.
