10 Cruelest Leaders Ever

1. Adolf Hitler

It’s clear why the Nazi leader is number one. There are people still alive to retell about the evils he has done. The cruelest leader in the human history was elected for German chancellor in 1933, became Fuhrer one year later and remained leader of the country until the suicide in 1945, when Germany lost the World War II. He had intention to create a new order where Nazi Germans would be dominant, so he built a lot of gas chambers where he killed somewhere between 11 and 14 million people, mostly Jews. Despite the gas chambers, he started the biggest and cruelest was that the humanity remembers, in which about 50 million people were killed. Continue reading

Starless planets could be warm enough for human survival

It seems that starless planets may be able to harbour human life after all.

In what has offered new possiblies of life around the galaxy, it has emerged that water can remain in its liquid form even in a starless planet.

Regardless of the force of gravity among planets – that could cause the ejection of the solar systems – and the cold of space, the decay of radioactive elements in the rocky cores is enough to keep these wayward worlds to stay warm, reports New Scientist.

This also explains why water in rocky planets – with a similar mass to Earth – remains liquid under thick and insulating ice sheets for over a billion years.

According to Dorian Abbot and Eric Switzer of the University of Chicago, a planet with the same fraction of water as Earth could keep a subsurface ocean liquid if it was 3.5 times Earth’s mass. But a planet with 10 times Earth’s water concentration could do this if it weighed just one-third as much as Earth.

“It’s a really interesting idea,” says Lisa Kaltenegger of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics.

“But we would have to land on [a planet] and burrow down to see if life is possible.”

How To Make Your PC Run Like New

Windows 7, the latest client version in the Mi...

There are a number of ways to make your PC run like new. Most people overlook the fact that all new PCs have a top speed, and as time progresses, this speed is slowed down with the amount of clutter, files and random applications that you may have installed. Unless your PC is 5+ years old, you do not have to buy any new hardware to make it run faster – you just have to be able to fix the various problems that will typically prevent it from loading up quickly, thus making it appear to run slower.

STEP 1 – Uninstall Unwanted Programs

The first step is to uninstall any unwanted software that you may have on your computer. Not many people know this, but each PC has a certain level of speed which is continually being used by the various applications that you may want to run. The bottom line is that the more software you have installed, the more PC resources are taken up, and the slower your system will run. You should follow the steps here to get rid of any unwanted programs that you may have:

* Click “Start”
* Locate “Control Panel”
* Find “Add / Remove Programs”
* Remove any of the programs you don’t want

This will basically allow your PC to “concentrate” more on the applications you do want to run, making sure that it’s able to correctly process all the important settings & options that are required to run. We’ve found that this is actually one of the best ways to speed up a slow system Continue reading

Twitter Fail Whale In Many Forms

Twitter Fail Whale In Many Forms

Twitter is over capacity. Please wait a moment and try again – and several little red birds holding up a giant whale over the ocean. Sounds familiar? It’s the Fail Whale!

If you just started Twitter you maybe don’t know what I’m talking about but let me explain; The Fail Whale is simply an illustration that pops up on your Twitter when this site has an error or experiences an outage. The illustrator Yiying Lu had no idea her little illustration could be a inspiration for many to create the whale out of different materials or even put an own twist on this well-known Twitter-illustration. World’s first anti-laser

Yale University scientists have developed the world’s first anti-laser, in which incoming beams of light interfere with one another in such a way as to perfectly cancel each other out.

The discovery could pave the way for a number of novel technologies with applications in everything from optical computing to radiology.

Conventional lasers, which were first invented in 1960, use a so-called “gain medium,” usually a semiconductor like gallium arsenide, to produce a focused beam of coherent light-light waves with the same frequency and amplitude that are in step with one another. Continue reading

Dananananaykroyd

Dananananaykroyd Dananananaykroyd (say it with me, Dana-nana-naykroyd) are a six-piece indie-rock band from Glasgow, Scotland formed in 2006. They describe their sound as “fight pop”. Their name is a play on the name of Canadian actor Dan Aykroyd’s name. The band’s lineup consists of Duncan Robertson and David Roy on guitar, Laura Hyde on Bass, Calum Gunn doing vocals, John Baillie Jr working the drums and backup vocals and Paul Carlin also on drums.
